Tiered garden, Exmouth
This was an interesting project that involved working closely with the client to re-design the whole garden at a new build property, and transform a steep and hard to maintain slope into tiered level areas.
The works involved the construction of a series of stone retaining walls to create a mixture of raised beds and level lawn areas. A patio/seating area enclosed by a curved sloping stone retaining wall was also constructed at the side of the house, with a pergola behind it for planting climbers and to help hide the school basketball court behind. A trellis screen was incorporated for climbing plants and to separate the upper tier of the garden.
A path was then laid to provide easy access to the various areas of the garden with an adjacent bed for planting. The overall result was a garden that was more practical for maintaining and planting whilst being more aesthetically pleasing to look at.
“Green Man Gardens designed and landscaped our difficult and awkwardly shaped garden in 2015. Because of the slope, we wanted to incorporate natural stone walls, trellises and new paths. We were delighted with the final outcome, and the garden looks good at any time of year. Daniel was a courteous, considerate and diligent worker. We would not hesitate to recommend him.”
