Walled garden, Exeter

This project involved working closely with the client on the re-design of their back garden across two levels. On the upper level of the garden they wanted to achieve a more naturalistic look and enhance the views from the house, whilst incorporating a seating area and a central feature area. On the lower level of the garden the client wanted to upgrade the paving and include some raised beds to plant climbers.

The works included: on the upper level – construction of a paved sandstone seating area adjoining a central circular feature area and connecting path consisting of edging bricks, slabs and gravel. On the lower level – taking up of existing paving and construction of new sandstone patio and raised beds. Finally, the soil in the beds was prepared ready for the clients to plant out, and wires and tensioners were attached to all the walls to support climbers and fruit trees.

“Our garden has been transformed. Daniel made good design suggestions but was very receptive also to what we wanted. He was very thorough and skilled in undertaking the hard landscaping. He turned up when he said he would, the cost was reasonable and the work was completed to time and budget. We thoroughly recommend him.”
